Wolters Field neighbors invited to serve on Advisory Group

We invite Wolters Field neighbors to volunteer to serve on the Wolters Field Advisory Group, which was formed in 2004 as a joint committee between the City of Highland Park and District 113. The Group is responsible for reviewing the impact on the surrounding neighborhood of any lights or sound emanating from the Wolters Field property, as well as vehicular traffic related to lighted events, and then reporting concerns back to the City and District for consideration.
The 11-member Advisory Group includes five community members whose primary residence is located in the area surrounding Wolters Field, and in order to comply with the City ordinance as it pertains to the Wolters Field Advisory Group, we are seeking letters of interest from any neighbors who would like to serve.
If you would like to serve on the committee, you can:
·         Send your name, address, e-mail address/phone number and why you are interested to Jennie Waldorf via e-mail at jwaldorf@dist113.org, or by mail at 1040 Park Avenue West, Highland Park, IL, 60035
Please submit letters of interest no later than Friday, April 22, 2016. New members will be jointly selected and appointed by Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering and District 113 School Board President Annette Lidawer, and will begin their terms at the next Advisory Group meeting on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Check in the athletic office to make sure you have an updated physical/Athletic Permit Card.

HIGHLAND PARK HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC PHILOSOPHY

The athletic program at Highland Park High School is an integral part of the school’s educational process. Participation in athletics compliments the learning experience for youths. Involvement in an athletics program can contribute to the development of health, happiness, physical skills, emotional maturity, social competence and moral values. Cooperation and competition also offer unique opportunities to develop the spirit of play and the will to succeed. These qualities are critical to the developing student.
Coaches at HPHS will always strive to be positive role models. They will make our teams as competitive as possible while helping students acquire skills for success in the future. Coaches will involve as many athletes as possible in an educationally sound and successful program.
