Child Care Programs at HPHS

Highland Park High School is proud to offer two enriching early childhood options for families: Little Giants Child Care Center and Highland Park High School Preschool. Each program is unique in structure and philosophy, yet both are deeply committed to supporting the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children in nurturing, engaging environments. Scroll down to learn more about our child care programs at Highland Park High School.

Little Giants

Little Giants provides a warm, play-centered environment for children ages two to five. With a small class size of 16 and a dedicated team of three staff members, children benefit from individualized attention as they develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Weekly themes guide hands-on activities that foster creativity, curiosity, and foundational skills for kindergarten readiness.

We believe that play is essential to learning and personal growth. Through shared experiences, children build meaningful relationships, develop trust, and gain a strong sense of self. Our goal is to help every child grow into a confident, joyful learner in a caring and respectful setting.

HPHS Preschool

The Highland Park High School Preschool offers a one-of-a-kind learning experience where high school students, guided by Applied Arts educators, lead daily lessons for preschoolers. These lessons are thoughtfully designed using age-appropriate strategies and align with weekly themes across key learning areas like language arts, math, science, and art.

Each child is paired with a high school student, creating a 1:1 learning ratio that allows for personalized attention and strong relationships. This lab-based model not only supports the child’s growth but also inspires future educators through hands-on teaching experience in a nurturing, collaborative setting.
