Special Education
Overview
The Special Education Department at District 113 is dedicated to empowering students with diverse learning needs through inclusive, supportive and student-centered practices. By providing personalized, evidence-based instruction and fostering strong collaboration among educators, families and the broader community, we strive to unlock each student’s unique potential. Our programs promote academic growth, social-emotional development, self-advocacy and independence. In a safe and respectful environment, students are encouraged to celebrate their strengths, build confidence and develop the tools necessary to succeed in school and beyond. With a deep commitment to equity and access, the department ensures that all students have meaningful opportunities to learn, participate and thrive.
