What are National Language Exams?
The National Language Examinations are online, standardized assessment tools for grades 6-12 given voluntarily by approximately 4000 teachers throughout the United States. National Exams measure the proficiency and achievement of students who are studying French, Italian, and Spanish as a second language. These exams may support student preparation for standardized tests such as the ACTFL Assessment of Performance toward Proficiency in Languages (AAPPL), Advanced Placement Language and Culture courses, the ACT and the SAT. Students who earn outstanding scores may be eligible for awards, recognitions and scholarships offered by the organizations.
