HPTV

Club Overview

Highland Park Television, otherwise known as HPTV, is Highland Park High School’s television network open to all students, offering an opportunity to explore and develop skills in media and filmmaking production. The club’s main programming is the dual-language video announcements, and members also produce live events.

HPTV members gain hands-on experience in camera operation, filmmaking, storytelling, video editing and on-camera presentation. The club competes annually in film festivals like the Midwest Media Educators Association Festival (MMEA) and the National Academy of the Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) competitions. HPTV is the club for those interested in pursuing careers in the media and film industries, strengthening their Spanish or English speaking skills, or simply those looking for a fun and creative community. Meetings take place every Tuesday and Wednesday at 3:15 PM in the Media Center (L120).
