Club Overview

Highland Park Television, otherwise known as HPTV, is Highland Park High School’s television network open to all students, offering an opportunity to explore and develop skills in media and filmmaking production. The club’s main programming is the dual-language video announcements, and members also produce live events.

HPTV members gain hands-on experience in camera operation, filmmaking, storytelling, video editing and on-camera presentation. The club competes annually in film festivals like the Midwest Media Educators Association Festival (MMEA) and the National Academy of the Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) competitions. HPTV is the club for those interested in pursuing careers in the media and film industries, strengthening their Spanish or English speaking skills, or simply those looking for a fun and creative community. Meetings take place every Tuesday and Wednesday at 3:10 PM in the Media Center (L120).

Media Center Equipment Request

This form is for students and staff to request equipment from the HPHS Media Center. Equipment will be assigned based upon availability and scheduled needs.

Please fill out all necessary information at least two days (48 hours) before needing the equipment. This is to make sure the equipment you are requesting is available, charged or we can troubleshoot other equipment solutions if what you are seeking is unavailable.

Whether you're requesting HPTV coverage or support for a Media Center project, please use the Media Center Support Request form.

For HPTV coverage

If you have a promo, blurb or other content you'd like featured on HPTV, submit a support request as early as possible
For dynamic promotions, submit your request at least 2.5 weeks before the desired announcement date
For simple blurbs to be read by HPTV anchors, submit your language by 11 a.m. on Monday of the week you want it featured

For Media Center support

If you need help with a project, event or classroom support, submit your request at least two days before the date of your need
- Requests submitted outside of this window may not be accommodated
For productions, edits, video recordings or class lessons, please submit your request at least two weeks in advance
After submitting, you’ll receive a confirmation and details about the Media Center’s availability via email
