Link Crew

To help welcome our incoming Highland Park High School freshman students into our House on Vine, all freshmen participate in an orientation and transition program called LINK CREW as part of their Physical Education class. This program begins on the 1st Day of School, where Link Leaders will welcome the Class of 2030 on Wednesday, August 12, at 8:00AM in our Giant Gym. Freshmen will be together for a morning of activities, followed by a half-day schedule with the entire school in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided. Bus services will be provided to and from school.

What is Link Crew?

Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience at Highland Park High School! Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, members of the Classes of 2027 and 2028 are trained to be Link Crew Leaders. As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders are mentors and student leaders who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school, connect them with each other and to the many different offerings and resources at Highland Park High School.  Link Crew provides the structure for freshmen to receive support and guidance from these juniors and seniors who have been through the challenges that high school poses, and understand that the transition to a larger school can sometimes be overwhelming.  This important connection allows them to be and feel a part of our GIANT Family, leading to their successful transition to their high school lives and the ability to reach toward and achieve their secondary and postsecondary goals.
